Calling all dancers!!!

You know who you are.  You love to dance. 

Maybe you know all the ballroom dances...tango, foxtrot, mambo, hustle, waltz.  Or, maybe you're a freestyler who just likes to get on the dance floor and move until the music stops at the end of the night.

You've asked us to find you a dance floor the size of Blob's Park.  Hey...we've got one even BIGGER! We've got just the place for you!!!

Introducing The Hollywood Ballroom

The Hollywood Ballroom.  It's elegant, but not stuffy.  It's big, but it's intimate.  And it's got one of the biggest dance floors in the entire area...even bigger than the old Blob's Park.

At 7200 square feet their dance floor is large enough for everyone to strut their stuff without bumping into their neighbors.  Even better, it is a Maple floor that is floating, or "sprung", to minimize fatigue.  You'll feel like you're dancing on air.

We're really excited about this series of dances at Hollywood Ballroom.  We've a great following of folks that love ballroom dance, and we'll have plenty of opportunities for them.  At the same time we're not forgetting those that are freestyle "get out and boogie" folks that are there just to have a great time.

We'll be bringing our usual mix of current hits as well as classic older material, and of course you know we're always willing to take a request!  You know how it works...EVERYONE has fun!!!

Singles and Couples are Welcome

This is not just a singles dance, nor is it primarily for couples.  There will be a mix of folks here and the common theme is that EVERYONE will be ready to dance!

There are no wallflowers here...so if you're single and looking for a place to come out to have a great time, or if you're a couple ready for a night of dancing and great music, well, this is your place.

There is PLENTY of room available...social groups, singles clubs, and meet-up groups are encouraged to attend as well.

Attire

Comfortable clothing is recommended.  We prefer no shorts and shirts should have collars, but casual is definitely "in".  That said, if you feel like dressing to the nines as you strut your stuff on the dance floor, you are by all means encouraged to do so.

Take 5 Cafe

Take Five Cafe at Hollywood BallroomA lite fare food menu as well as beer, wine, juices and sodas are available from the Take 5 Cafe connected to the ballroom.

Sandwiches, salads, fresh fruits, and even a couple of varieties of pizza are available at very reasonable prices.

No outside food or beverages are permitted.

Admission

Admission to the event is $20.  You may pay at the door.

How to get to Hollywood Ballroom

While the actual address for the Hollywood Ballroom says it's in Silver Spring, the actual location is probably far different from what you might expect!

Situated just off Route 29 it is four miles OUTSIDE the Washington Beltway.  It is actually much closer to the ICC, (Route 200) than it is to the Beltway.

This place is so easy to get to just about everyone in the immediate Baltimore / Washington area can get there, DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT, in 30-45 minutes, and many can get there even faster than that!

The driveway to the ballroom is directly opposite the Maryland Vehicle Emissions Testing Station off Industrial Parkway, just one block off of US29 (Columbia Pike)
