  • It was written and performed by Ray Parker Jr (born 5/1/54 in Detroit Michigan)
  • The song was a #1 hit for three weeks on the Top 40 charts in 1984
  • It was also #1 on the R&B charts for two weeks, and #2 on the UK charts
  • Huey Lewis sued Ray Parker Jr for plagiarism,  claiming the medley was similar to his song "I Want A New Drug".  They settled out of court and agreed not to talk about the case publicly, but in 2001, on VH1's "Behind The Music", Lewis revealed that Parker had paid to settle the suit . Parker then sued Lewis for reneging on the terms of their settlement
  • The song has become a classic Halloween song ever since it's release
