On November 2nd 2004 we learned that one of our very dear friends
passed away after an extended bout with cancer.
Lillian "Mamma Lil" Ellis was one of the band's earliest and
strongest supporters, and with her husband John they attended many
of our performances, particularly over at American Legion Post 175
in Severna Park.
We're going to miss Lil greatly, yet feel comfort knowing she's in
a better place looking down and keeping an eye on us.

In November 2004 Oracle was
pleased to perform for a benefit at the Annapolis Elks Lodge in
Annapolis Maryland.
We'd like to thank the Elks
for inviting us. We had a wonderful time performing for you
all, and we really hope that we can arrange a return performance
next year to help you all raise more money for your charitable
activities.

It was the end of an era. After more than 40 years the Officers Club
at Andrews AFB closed it's doors for good. Our performance in
October made us one of the last bands to perform there.
Oracle was invited to perform at the opening of the all new All
Ranks Club, (AKA "The Club"), formerly the NCO Club.
Steve's been performing at Andrews since the 70s, and found the
transition to the new club "eerie" after having performed there so
many years ago.

In a rare Wednesday performance Oracle played at J&Js Afterdeck the
day before Thanksgiving.
A really great crowd turned out to kick off the holiday season,
including the young lady you see pictured in the photo on the right.
You can view more photos from the evening by going to
J&Js Afterdeck Photo Gallery.

Once everyone successfully survives Thanksgiving, that can only mean
one thing...Holiday Parties are just around the corner!
Oracle performed for several parties this season, so many in fact
that we only had time to squeeze in one public performance the whole
month.
As always, everyone had a great time, as the folks in the conga
line in the photo on the left demonstrate.

Well, you can't really call it a holiday party, but
the party for the Raven's Roost based at J&Js Afterdeck sure knew
how to get into the holiday spirit.
They support the Baltimore Ravens football team,
and you'll be hard pressed to find a wilder, crazier bunch of fun
loving folks.
Want to see more from their party? Head over
to the
Ravens Roost Photo Gallery and check out all the fun shots! |
