At the heart of every Bridal Show
is the fashion show. Typically one (or more) dress shops will
present a 45 minute to 1 hour show of the kinds of gowns they
sell.
Bridesmaids dresses as well as the latest tuxedo fashions are also sometimes displayed. Prior to the start of the fashions themselves there is typically some musical entertainment as well as possibly some other demonstrations or talks on things like makeup, hair, or flowers. Bring your digital camera with you to snap shots of the gowns you want to follow up on, and have a pad and pen handy to take notes. |

Oracle typically performs in our booth during
the show. Although the volume is much lower than at a live wedding, we
feel that it's easy to play loud, but it takes a good band to play
quietly.
No matter what, though, we still manage to have FUN while playing. It's why Oracle does so well at shows like this. Why is it other bands always look so BORED when they play? Don't they know that performing is FUN? |

Depending on the time of day the aisles might be jam
packed or almost empty.
The best time to speak with vendors (assuming you're not looking for a dress) is during the fashion shows. The majority of the attendees will be sitting watching the show, leaving the aisles clear and vendors with more time to speak at length with you. |

Most vendors will have some sort of door prize to give away. Oracle used stuffed Valentine's Day bears as well as a savings certificate for the band. As you can see, the young man in the left photo is having a great time. He was dancing, playing tambourine, and generally having a ball. |

At the most recent bridal show at
the Baltimore Convention Center Oracle was grateful to have the assistance
of four very good friends of the band helping us out with things like
passing out band literature, answering questions about the group, and
managing the flow of people around the booth.
We'd like to express our heartfelt thanks to Ron, Carla, Vickie, and Rose for their help. It's not easy being on your feet for as long as they were, answering questions, and dealing with the masses. Our Oracle Family really comes through for us time and time again, but these four deserve special recognition for going far and above the call of duty. We can't thank them enough!!! |
