Roman Guercio - 12/11/1926 - 4/2/2006Roman was a great friend of the band, coming out to a great many of our performances over the years. He lived in Odenton for almost 50 years, and we soon got to know he and his wife Jean as good friends of the band. We never really called him Roman much...he was better known to the band as just plain "Pops". He was at Okinawa during WWII, then after the war came back and was a mechanic at Luby Chevrolet for 35 years until he retired in 1988. He loved his dogs, he told some great stories, and loved riding motorcycles. We always wished we could have seen him perched up on the back of a big fat hog...now THAT would have been a picture! Over the years we took a number of photos of them at the various places we performed in and around Odenton, and so we present to you the best of them here as a tribute to one of the band's most loyal fans. Our condolences go out to his wife Jean and the family, and we will remember him with the best of memories! |
