Saturday
night at Perry's Restaurant in Odenton Maryland. A full house came
out to party with the band on night two of our "no repeat
weekend", where we perform completely different songs each night.
We had with us two very special guests. The couple pictured here
had been married some time ago, but the groom had to ship out to serve his
country in Iraq before they could get in a honeymoon. Our serviceman
was more than a little embarrassed at the attention he received when we
mentioned his presence, and asked that we acknowledge the efforts of his
friends and brothers in arms, and all the men and women who are still in
harm's way over in Iraq.
We can't think of a better way to send them off on their honeymoon than
to ask everyone to remember the efforts of all the members of the armed
forces serving throughout the world, and especially to those putting their
lives on the line each and every day in hostile areas.
You all know that Oracle ends each performance with the song
"Proud to Be An American". It's because of guys like this
that are the reason why. God Bless them all! |
