Earthquakes earlier in the week. A hurricane bearing down on the area. Do you think that slowed the party down at Whispers? Ask the people that couldn't find a spot in the parking lot because there weren't any spots left in the otherwise spacious parking lot! A smattering of birthdays, several very large tables full of Oracle Band regulars, and a great table of alumni from Northwestern HS in Hyattsville...which just happens to be trumpet player Steve Kimbell's alma mater. With a dance floor that was packed from first note to last it was definitely one of those "evenings to remember"...the night we stared Hurricane Irene down & said "it's time to PARTY!!!"
