And so we enter the dog days of
Summer. Lots of folks are off on vacation, but the parties get
even hotter.
The first weekend of July found
Oracle performing at one of our favorite places...Whispers
Restaurant.
You never know what to expect
when performing at Whispers, except you know it's going to be a
great party. Birthdays, Anniversaries, promotions, retirement
parties, we've seen them all there, and Whispers is the perfect
place for them.

American Legion Post 40 Crab Feast
In August the band participated in one of the
rituals of Maryland living...a crab feast.
Sponsored by the American Legion Post 40 in
Glen Burnie Maryland, folks were cracking and digging their way into
some of the tastiest crabs to ever come out of Chesapeake Bay.
Once the feast had concluded, it was time to
hit the dance floor and work off a few calories, which everyone did
with gusto, as you can see. Check out the other photos at the

Hope Gala - Domestic Violence Center Fundraiser
As the heat of the summer months slowly waned, and
the cooler breath of Fall began to let us know that it was time to
open the windows again, Oracle performed a very special benefit for
an extremely deserving organization, the Domestic Violence Center of
Howard County.
Held in the beautiful lobby of the Kossiakoff
Center at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, the setting was simply
spectacular.
With the waiters and waitresses dressed to elicit donations from the
guests, the scene was pretty wild.
Dubbed the "Hope Gala", proceeds went to help fund the
various programs sponsored by the center. The center provides
an array of services focusing on prevention, intervention and
advocacy for the victims of domestic violence.

Kahuna's Restaurant
The beginning of October saw a debut for Oracle at a newly
renovated club up in Hagerstown Maryland called Kahuna's.
Although we were well received up there, the distances involved
in travelling up there probably preclude many return visits.

Harvest Festival
The week after the Kahuna's performance we performed for another
unique kind of party, the Harvest Festival sponsored by FutureCare
Canton Harbor in Baltimore. With special visits by the mascots from
the Orioles and the Ravens, with the aroma of scrumptious food
wafting over the area, and with a picture perfect day, the event was
about as perfect as you can get.

Commodore's Balls
The coming of Fall also means that most of the
folks in the boating community start pulling their boats out of the
water in anticipation of the ice and storms of the coming winter.
However, this doesn't mean that these hearty party people take
things easy! On the contrary, with the coming of Fall the
Commodore's Balls start up, and Oracle was thrilled to be a part of
a number of these fabulous parties.
