The Oracle performances in Laurel wouldn't be possible without the support and encouragement from the City Mayor's office. Mayor Moe has been a fixture in Laurel for several years...perhaps because he really is a great Mayor. Easy to speak with and extremely personable, it is a pleasure working with him and his staff. Speaking of staff, we could not forget to mention our very good friend Kay, who has been coordinating this event for many years and is about to step down to take a well deserved rest. The fireworks at Laurel are not funded by the city. They are the result of fundraising throughout the year by Kay and her volunteers, who do all the work of preparing for this day on their own time. The task is pretty monumental, especially during these uncertain economic times, and Kay has done an incredible job! |

Seasoned fans of Oracle Band will remember this guy on the right. Charlie Rundlett was with Oracle Band for over five years, and in that time helped shape the sound and the direction of the band, bringing in a great number of fans. Charlie stopped by the concert to take it all in while enjoying his retirement from full time weekend gigs. We did entice him to come up on stage to do a tune with us for old time's sake, and the crowd loved it. Of course his wife is still working on him to get to all those projects around the house that he was SUPPOSED to be able to get to now that he's not working every weekend with the band! |

Oh yeah...while Charlie was on stage performing, Jim grabbed Steve's camera and fired off a few shots, including some extremely rare photos of Steve actually playing! Since Steve takes 99.9% of the photos you see on these pages, he is seldom seen in the Oracle photo gallery. |

This is Bill & Gayle Stevik on the left. They run one of the best Karaoke companies in the area, (U Sing It...shameless plug). Bill grew up in Laurel, attended Laurel High School, and is also an excellent trumpet player. He and Steve have performed in bands & ensembles together many times dating back further than either of them care to admit! |
